The release of Outlander Season 7 on Starz has left fans eagerly anticipating its arrival on Netflix, where many viewers outside of the United States have enjoyed the series. Led by Caitríona Balfe and based on Diana Gabaldon’s beloved novels, Outlander follows the journey of Claire Randall, a 1945 World War II nurse who finds herself thrust back in time to 1743 Scotland, where she falls in love with the dashing Highlander Jamie Fraser, portrayed by Sam Heughan.

As fans eagerly await the arrival of Season 7 on Netflix, they are left to ponder the future of the series. With only two more books left to adapt after Season 7, the end of Outlander’s journey remains uncertain. However, given the show’s enduring popularity and dedicated fan base, it could be some time before the final chapter is written.

In the meantime, viewers can continue to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of historical drama, romance, and adventure that Outlander has to offer, eagerly anticipating the next installment of Claire and Jamie’s epic saga.

When Will Outlander Season 7 Release on Netflix?

Fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of Outlander Season 7 on Netflix may have to exercise some patience, as the release date for the latest installment of the hit Starz series has not yet been announced. The absence of Season 7 on Netflix is likely due to the fact that the season has not yet concluded its original run on Starz.

Season 7 of Outlander is being released in two parts, with the first part airing from June to August 2023, and the remaining episodes set to premiere in November 2024, as reported by TVLine. Given the release pattern of previous seasons, it’s reasonable to expect that Season 7 will follow suit and arrive on Netflix after its run on linear TV has concluded.

For reference, both Seasons 5 and 6 of Outlander were added to Netflix approximately two years after their respective season finales. Season 5 debuted on Netflix on May 10, 2022, while Season 6 followed suit on May 1, 2024.

Based on this pattern, fans can anticipate a similar delay for the arrival of Season 7 on Netflix. If Season 7, Part 1 follows the same release pattern as its predecessors, it could potentially arrive on Netflix around August 11, 2025. The release of Part 2 may then follow several months later, likely in December 2026 or January 2027.

However, there is also the possibility that all 16 episodes of Season 7 will be released on Netflix at once once they have aired on Starz. Until an official announcement is made by Netflix, fans will have to stay tuned for updates on when they can expect to continue their Outlander journey on the streaming platform.

Is Outlander Season 7 Its Last?

As Outlander Season 7 heads towards its second-half release in late 2024, fans are naturally curious about the future of the beloved series. Thus far, the show has followed a pattern of adapting roughly one book from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series per season, with Season 7 currently in the midst of bringing to life the events of Gabaldon’s 2009 novel, “An Echo in the Bone.”

With more narrative material available in Gabaldon’s subsequent books, the possibility of further seasons of the Outlander TV series seems promising. The author has already penned two more Outlander novels set after “An Echo in the Bone,” namely “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood” and “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone,” with a tenth and final book in the series expected before 2026.

While no official release information has been announced for Season 8, production is already underway. Outlander star Sam Heughan confirmed during an appearance at Paris’ The Land Con 6 in early April that filming had begun, revealing that they had already shot for three weeks by that time. Heughan’s co-star, Caitríona Balfe, also expressed a sense of nostalgia, acknowledging that it would be “really sad” when they finish filming the final season.

However, despite the wealth of source material available, there is uncertainty about whether the last two Outlander books, including the unreleased tenth installment, will be adapted for the screen. Nonetheless, as the team wraps up their work on Season 8 and concludes the TV series, fans can hope for a satisfying sense of closure to the Outlander saga that has captivated audiences for over a decade.
