Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead: Unexpected Hiatus for Episode 10 and Beyond Explained!

More than a week has elapsed since Bug Films announced that “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” is on an indefinite hiatus. Episodes 10 through 12 remain without a set air date. Despite these frustrating delays, the anime has garnered a substantial fanbase since its debut in July. However, if this hiatus persists for too long, interest might wane, especially with the highly anticipated fall anime lineup.

Reasons for Delay

The first season of “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” faced multiple delays since its July premiere, attributed to production challenges and scheduling conflicts. Shortly after its release in Japan, fans experienced episode postponements, some lasting up to a week.

According to Screen Rant, a combination of production hiccups and scheduling clashes influenced the show’s broadcast schedule in Japan. However, this explanation doesn’t clarify why Bug Films decided on an indefinite hiatus.

The Hiatus

Bug Films did not offer a specific reason for the hiatus, but indicated that they are awaiting broadcasting updates. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), roughly translated, they stated:

“Regarding episodes 10 to 12, as soon as the broadcast information is confirmed, we will provide further information on the program’s official website and X (formerly Twitter).”

While this provides little clarity, it is likely that the hiatus is linked to the substantial episode delays. Although “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” is accessible on various English-speaking streaming platforms, it initially airs on Japanese television. The delays probably resulted in the show losing its designated time slot. Consequently, they’ll need to wait until these slots become available again before broadcasting the final episodes. The question remains: how long will this take?

It appears that it will be some time before we can expect the last few episodes of “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.” When COVID-related delays affected several anime shows, like “Nier Automata,” it took months for the series to secure a new time slot. Therefore, if this is the primary issue, it’s probable that we won’t receive any updates on “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” until after the New Year.

In the meantime, fans can join the ranks of those who have turned to Haro Asô’s manga to discover what happens next!
