The highly anticipated Season 4 of “The Kardashians” made its explosive debut on Hulu, reigniting the drama and tensions that have defined the Kardashian-Jenner family. Picking up where Season 3 left off, the season began with Kourtney and Kim Kardashian resolving their feud, which had flared up during Kourtney’s extravagant Italian wedding in May 2022.
The clash between the sisters was sparked when Kim launched a ’90s-inspired collection in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana shortly after Kourtney’s wedding. Kourtney accused the SKIMS founder of emulating her wedding style for her own business venture, leading to weeks of intense exchanges. Kim branded Kourtney as “jealous” and a “hater,” while Kourtney felt unsupported by her sister on her special day.
Eventually, the sisters managed to reconcile and put an end to their feud. Kim recognized the distance that had grown between them, especially after their physical altercation in 2020, which arose when Kourtney chose to prioritize her three children over filming. However, their reconciliation proved to be short-lived. As Season 3 aired, the sisters watched their feud play out on television, reigniting their discord. Kourtney expressed the difficulty of watching their dispute during the editing process, and tensions escalated. In a heated phone call, just three days before a family trip to Cabo, Kourtney and the SKIMS founder confronted their issues once again.
During the conversation, Kim confessed to becoming “worked up” while watching the episodes and mentioned that she understood both sides of the feud. Kourtney, on the other hand, stated that the episodes made her reluctant to be around. Kim suggested they discuss it further, expressing her frustration at feeling like “nothing happened at the wedding.”
Kourtney accused Kim of seizing something that was hers and blowing it out of proportion, insinuating that Kim wanted all the attention. Kim countered that the ’90s theme wasn’t entirely original, as it’s a widely recognized concept. Kourtney argued that Kim couldn’t handle someone else stealing the spotlight. Their argument escalated, with Kim questioning why Kourtney harboured such negative feelings toward her and accusing her of holding a grudge. Kourtney disclosed that she no longer felt the need for her family and found happiness in distancing herself from them.
Kim took it a step further, claiming that all of Kourtney’s closest friends secretly spoke ill of her behind her back. Feeling deeply hurt, Kourtney broke down in tears, asserting that everyone was against her. The call abruptly ended. In a joint confessional, the sisters reflected on the intense phone call and admitted that they had reached a point they weren’t proud of. Kourtney described Kim as using any means to hurt her, and Kim acknowledged her own tendency to be self-centred.
In a separate confessional, Kourtney shared that the phone conversation had been truly hurtful and reminded her of the family’s habit of saying hurtful things to one another—a behaviour she’s actively working on changing in therapy. The drama continues to unfold in the latest season of “The Kardashians,” offering viewers a raw and unfiltered look into the complexities of family relationships and the challenges they face.
