Mayim Bialik and Jonathan Cohen share a professional partnership that extends into their personal lives. They co-host the podcast “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown,” which focuses on mental health and combines Bialik’s scientific background with Cohen’s writing skills. Bialik, known for her role in “The Big Bang Theory,” holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience.
The couple met over a decade ago at a children’s birthday party, but their romantic relationship didn’t begin until some years later, as Bialik was in a different relationship from 2013 to 2018. They decided to launch their podcast in January 2021, aiming to address mental health issues exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jonathan Cohen, a scriptwriter and Bialik’s creative partner on the podcast, has a background in arts and film studies. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria and a Master of Fine Arts from the AFI Conservatory. Cohen is also interested in technology and co-founded Lotic.ai, a wellness app that combines science and storytelling to promote self-discovery and healthier choices. He moved back to California from Toronto in 2018 to be closer to his son.
Mayim Bialik was previously married to Michael Stone, whom she met in college. They got married in 2003 and have two children together, Miles and Frederick. Bialik’s experience as a parent influenced her return to acting, leading to her prominent role in “The Big Bang Theory.” Unfortunately, her marriage with Stone ended in November 2012.
Bialik clarified that her divorce was not related to her parenting style, which emphasizes attachment parenting. She stated that their decision to divorce was based on factors unrelated to their parenting approach.
