Koko Iwasaki is a professional dancer known for her appearance on season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. Born in Kanagawa, Japan, she moved to the United States at the age of two and grew up in Pembroke Pines, Florida. At 16, she began her professional dance career and has worked with various chart-topping artists.
Koko achieved recognition as the runner-up on season 14 of So You Think You Can Dance and has performed at prestigious events like the GRAMMY Awards and Billboard Music Awards. She also boasts an impressive resume, having collaborated with artists such as Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Jason Derulo, and more.
In her personal life, Koko enjoys photography, being a plant enthusiast, cooking, running, and traveling. She got engaged to fellow So You Think You Can Dance alum, Chris “Kiki” Nyemchek.
For Dancing with the Stars season 32, Koko is partnered with Matt Walsh, an accomplished actor known for his roles in Veep, Unplugging, Ghosts, and more. Matt is a co-founder of the sketch/improv theater group Upright Citizens Brigade and co-hosts a comedy podcast titled Second in Command. He has won two Emmy Awards and received numerous other accolades.
Despite Koko’s previous season ending in elimination with partner Vinny Guadagnino, she is back with high hopes for success alongside Matt Walsh. The new season promises to be memorable with its star-studded cast. Dancing With the Stars airs weekly on ABC or Disney Plus.
