The College Cup stands as the ultimate achievement for collegiate soccer players across the United States, representing the pinnacle of success in NCAA soccer.

After the culmination of the regular season and conference competitions, the spotlight now shines on the NCAA Tournament. This tournament marks a crucial phase for teams aiming to ascend to the upper ranks of collegiate soccer or maintain their status among the nation’s premier programs.

For the women’s competition, the battleground remains at the familiar WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, a venue that has hosted the College Cup for the second consecutive season and the fourth time in the last six years. On the other hand, the men’s College Cup has been held at Cary every year since 2016. However, this year, the men’s tournament will make a shift from Cary, finding its new home at the Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, KY. This stadium serves as the home ground for Racing Louisville of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Louisville City FC of the United Soccer League (USL).

The move to Lynn Family Stadium marks an exciting change for the men’s College Cup, providing a fresh setting for the prestigious competition and offering a new backdrop for the culmination of the NCAA men’s soccer tournament. This alteration in venues promises a vibrant atmosphere and an opportunity for both men’s and women’s teams to showcase their talents on the grand stage of collegiate soccer.

The women’s semifinals are scheduled to take place in Cary, NC, on Friday, December 1, with the final set for Monday, December 4. On the other hand, the men’s semifinals will occur a week later in Louisville, KY, on Friday, December 8, followed by the final on Monday, December 11.

As for the men’s tournament, the competition has reached the quarterfinals. Teams such as last year’s runners-up Indiana are in contention, having progressed as an unseeded team this year. Other notable teams in the quarterfinals include Notre Dame and North Carolina as the No. 2 and 3 overall seeds, respectively. Clemson, West Virginia, and Stanford are also among the seeded teams, with Loyola Marymount and Oregon State aiming to advance as unseeded teams. Notably, only half of these teams will proceed to the College Cup, with three unseeded teams matched against seeded opponents in the quarterfinals.

Defending champions Syracuse faced an upset by New Hampshire in the second round, ending their title defense. Additionally, top-seeded Marshall also faced an upset, losing to Stanford in the third round.

On the women’s side, the final four teams have been determined. The No. 1 overall seed Florida State is vying for their fourth national championship in the last decade. They are joined by fellow 1-seeds Clemson and BYU, both emerging unscathed from their brackets, and the storied program Stanford advancing from the fourth quadrant. Defending champions UCLA, seeded No. 1 in their bracket, were eliminated in the first round by UC Irvine and will not be present to defend their title.
