Two people have been shot dead in the capital of Belgian, Brussels, on Monday evening, as confirmed by the police.
As per the prosecutor, the alleged shooter is still at large, reported by AFP news agency.
A spokeswoman for the prosecutor officer said that an investigation has started but it is still unclear of the gunman’s motive.
As per the local media, the victims were believed to be Swedish.
Sweden’s national football team are playing Belgium in a Euro 2024 qualifier, although it is unclear whether the victim were in the city for the match.
Belgian media reported that the gunman, who has allegedly used an automatic rifle, has fled the scene.
Reportedly, the attack happened at 7.00 pm local time, near Boulevard d’Ypres in central Brussels.
