Within less than a day, Tiffany Haddish returned to the stage after her second alleged DUI incident, where Beverly Hills police responded to a call about a woman found unresponsive at the wheel on Beverly Drive at 5:45 a.m. However, the stand-up comedian and actress ingeniously addressed the issue with her trademark humor during her recent stand-up gig in Long Beach, California.

At 43, Haddish effortlessly transformed what could have been an uncomfortable moment into a comedic masterpiece, using her wit to find amusement even in the most challenging circumstances. Performing at a previously planned show at the Laugh Factory, she cleverly tackled the arrest when prompted by an audience member, displaying her quick wit by quipping, “Ah, damn,” and teasingly responding, “You tell me.”

Amidst the uproarious crowd, she humorously joked about her situation, saying, “I don’t know, I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job and career, preferably in a uniform, and I answered my prayers,” as revealed by a recording obtained by TMZ. This punchline garnered tremendous applause, as she playfully thanked God for fulfilling her wish and added, “Because God believes in me,” a callback to a joke she previously made on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” following her DUI arrest in Georgia in 2022.

Her recent arrest occurred after a Thanksgiving event at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. The Beverly Hills Police confirmed responding to a vehicle incident at 5:45 a.m., resulting in her arrest for DUI. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and Haddish was released with a citation after spending several hours in police custody.

This isn’t Haddish’s first encounter with a DUI. In January 2022, she faced a similar incident in Peachtree City, Georgia, when the police suspected her of driving under the influence of marijuana. Responding to a 911 call reporting a driver asleep behind the wheel on Highway 74 at around 4:00 a.m., the authorities found Haddish attempting to park at a residence in an Atlanta suburb. She was arrested, booked at Fayette County Jail, and released on a $1,666 bond the same day.

During that time, Haddish was in Georgia for the filming of “Haunted Mansion.” The police extended the investigation, revealing to PEOPLE, “Subsequent investigation led to Ms. Tiffany Haddish being arrested for Driving Under the Influence,” and confirming her smooth transport to Fayette County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court for the case related to this arrest on Dec 4, with more details anticipated as the date approaches, as per TMZ.
