In the age of numerous streaming platforms, there’s a longing to experience the charm of a Blu-Ray in our own home theatres. Whether it’s a traditional Friday movie night with family and loved ones or a marathon with friends, something feels special about watching from a physical copy. It transports us back to a simpler time.

Disney has recently decided to indulge viewers in this nostalgic experience by releasing ‘The Mandalorian,’ ‘Wandavision,’ and ‘Loki’ on Blu-Ray and 4k UHD this month. Each of these creations from the Marvel Universe has different release dates and seasons. Along with these treasured physical releases, the discs will include exclusive concept art cards and feature new, unified, and collectable box art designed by renowned artist Attila Szarka.

Loki takes the lead in this classic release approach, hitting shelves on September 26, 2023. Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as the legendary Asgardian, drawing fans back into the captivating story. However, only the first season will be available initially, as Season 2 of ‘Loki’ is set to release on October 3rd.

Despite Loki’s complex character journey, audiences were captivated by him and deeply affected by his untimely demise at the hands of Thanos during his quest to acquire the all-powerful ‘stones’ to eradicate half of humanity.

Next up is ‘Wandavision,’ starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany as Vision. While their chemistry was enchanting on the big screen in the Avengers movies, Vision met his tragic end at the hands of Thanos. Created by Jac Schaeffer, the series consists of nine episodes set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. It will be available in physical form on November 28, 2023.

Finally, ‘The Mandalorian’ will make its return in two parts, with Season 1 on one disc and Season 2 on another. This Lucasfilm series, created by Jon Favreau, is set five years after George Lucas’s Star Wars series ‘Return Of The Jedi’ (1983), following the fall of the Galactic Empire. Pedro Pascal portrays Din Djarin, a bounty hunter tasked by the Imperial remnants to retrieve the child Grogu, but who ultimately chooses to protect the baby. Each season consists of eight episodes, so viewers can enjoy 16 episodes in physical form, released on December 12th, 2023.

Additionally, all the mentioned titles are available for pre-order, with Loki Season 1 already released on September 26th. This shift away from exclusive online streaming in favour of a more vintage and memorable home movie-watching experience is receiving widespread acceptance and praise. It’s hoped that Disney continues this trend for both upcoming and classic titles.
