Due to the ongoing industry strikes in Hollywood, which have caused delays in various productions, including Severance season 2, it appears that its return may not happen until late 2024.
On May 8, 2023, production on Severance season 2 came to a halt as staff participated in the 2023 Writers Strike. While the WGA may have reached an agreement as of September 2023, the Actors Strike is still ongoing. As a result, although script work for season 2 may resume soon, filming cannot commence until an agreement is reached between SAG-AFTRA and the studios. In essence, we’re halfway there, and if agreements are reached by the end of the year, a late 2024 release date is not out of the question.
Director Ben Stiller has hinted that there may be even more to come from one of the finest thriller series beyond the second season.
