Sen. Ben Cardin said Capitol police are investigating the reports which linked one of his former aides to a sex tape that was allegedly filmed in a Capitol Hill hearing room.

In a conversation with the reporters, the Maryland Democrat said that he was “angry” and “disappointed” by the incident.

“It’s a tragic situation, and it’s presented a lot of anger and frustration. I’m concerned about our staff and the way that they feel about this,” said Cardin. “It’s a breach of trust.”

Capitol Police said they were aware of the incident and are “looking into” it.

A footage published by Daily Caller on Friday allegedly showed two men having sex in a Senate hearing room. The identity of the individuals involved and the authenticity of the video is not yet confirmed by Business Upturn.

Post the reports of one of his staffers being involved, Cardin’s office released a statement, which said, “Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate.”
