Raiders have shown interest in South Carolina QB ahead of 2024 NFL draft

Amidst discussions about their draft strategy for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly expressed interest in Spencer Rattler, the talented quarterback from South Carolina. This information comes from a report by Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, who indicates that the Raiders held a meeting with Rattler on the eve of South Carolina’s Pro Day. Additionally, Schultz mentions that Rattler has attracted attention from multiple teams, including the New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks.

Opinions within the NFL community vary widely regarding Rattler’s potential draft position. While some analysts anticipate him being selected as early as the second round, others foresee him slipping into the later rounds of the draft. Schultz aligns with the former prediction, suggesting that Rattler could indeed be a second-round pick.

The Raiders, who possess the 44th overall pick in the second round, may be considering Rattler as a potential addition to their roster. However, it would be somewhat surprising if they were to select him any earlier than this given the uncertainty surrounding his draft stock.

Interestingly, Rattler’s connection to the Raiders has not received as much attention compared to other potential quarterback prospects, such as Michael Penix Jr. from Washington. Nevertheless, with the Raiders reportedly showing interest in Rattler, perhaps it’s time to take the possibility of him joining the team more seriously.
