Qatar hopes to extend the Israel – Hamas deal beyond the agreed four days

Qatar, who mediated the truce deal of four days between Israel and Hamas, is hoping to extend the agreement beyond the agreed upon days., reported CNN, citing Qatari Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari’s statement.

Al-Ansari said that considering the momentum of these two days of agreement of four days, it will “allow us to extend the truce beyond these four days and therefore get into more serious discussions about the rest of the hostages.”

He added that he has been continuously working with the senior officials of Qatar to address the concerns from either side of the conflict regarding the implementation of the agreement.

It is common in such agreements that you find either party complaining that the other one is not abiding by the terms of deal, he said.

The foreign minister also said that he would not be able to confirm is any American will be released on the third day of the deal.

Speaking of the humanitarian aid, he stated that Qatar is working with its partners, United States and Egypt, to ensure that enough aid trucks are being allowed into the enclaved region.
