Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its anticipated OnePlus 12, touted as the successor to the OnePlus 11. Recent reports suggest that the OnePlus 12 might stand out as the first smartphone to showcase Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 System on Chip (SoC), as per information from a reliable tipster. This device is also expected to flaunt remarkable specifications, including an impressive RAM capacity, a powerful camera system, and enhanced charging capabilities.

The OnePlus 12 is purportedly set to house the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, alongside a notable RAM capacity of 16GB or 24GB. To manage heat dissipation effectively, the device will incorporate a large vapor chamber (VC). The anticipated launch timeline for the OnePlus 12 is the end of this year, with suggestions that it could pioneer the deployment of Qualcomm’s flagship chipset.

Reports indicate that the OnePlus 12 will sport a curved display with a 2K resolution and support for high-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming. The display is also rumored to house an ultra-thin optical fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. On the camera front, the smartphone is anticipated to feature a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. This configuration is expected to include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera, further hinting at the possible inclusion of a periscope zoom camera.

Charging capabilities are poised for a leap, with support for 100W SuperVOOC wired charging through a USB Type-C port. Additionally, wireless charging is also rumored to receive an upgrade to 50W, enhancing the user experience.

Further leaked details hint at 256GB of UFS 4 storage, a 6.7-inch LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display, and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera designed to deliver high-quality selfies and video chats.

As OnePlus continues to push the boundaries of innovation, the OnePlus 12 promises to be a notable addition to the brand’s flagship lineup.
