Militants enter Israel from Gaza post rocket attacks which claims 1 life

Multiple militants from Gaza have entered Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday, shortly after a barrage of rockets left one person dead and at least three injured.

Palestinian militant group Hamas has claimed the responsibility for the rocket attack.

Military commander of Hamas, Muhammad Al-Deif released a recorded statement, announcing operation “Al-Aqsa Storm” and stated that the Palestinian militant group “targeted the enemy positions, airports and military positions with 5,000 rockets.”

The IDF has issued a warning for residents near Gaza to stay in their homes.

The rockets, which were witness by a CNN producer, prompted sirens as far north as the Tel Aviv area, east to Beer Sheva, and many other locations in between.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant are conducting security assessment at the headquarters of Israel Defense Forces headquarters in Tel Aviv, said PM’s office.
