Massive fire reported in chemical plant near Houston; Nearby town ordered evacuation

A massive fire reported at a chemical plant Houston, which has been prompting the authorities to evacuate the concerned neighbourhoods.

All employees are accounted for, with only one worker sustained a minor burn injury, according to Sound Resource Solutions, which owns the plant.

According to San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, the evacuations were in progress in the town of Shepherd.

Residents of Livingston, which is located several miles of north of Shepherd, are being asked to shelter in place and turn off air conditioners until further notice, as per the Livingstone police.

The photographs of the fire have surfaced online which shows dark black smoke billowing from the plant.

The town, Shepherd, is about a hour north of Houston.
