Marjorie Taylor Greene made of target of failed of swatting attempt on Christmas

Republican U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was targeted for a swatting attempt at her Georgia residence on Christmas morning, the congresswoman and local police said, marking the latest instance of someone calling in a fake emergency to draw armed officers or SWAT teams to her home.

Department spokesperson Kelly Madden said that the call was verified and was concluded as hoax by the Rome police department, because of which they did not deploy any force at her residence.

Taking it to X, formerly known as Twitter, Greene wrote, “I was just swatted. This is like the 8th time. On Christmas with my family here. My local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this.”

Madden shared that a man from New York had made the call at Georgia’s suicide hotline saying that he has shot his girlfriend at Greene’s home and will be killing himself next. The call was quickly transferred to the police department as soon as the suicide hotline responders recognized the Georgia congresswoman’s address.
