This edition (#4-5), unveiled on Christmas Day, not only showcased the exclusive Jujutsu Kaisen poster featuring pivotal moments from the “Shibuya Arc” but also included commemorative stickers for the highly anticipated Netflix One Piece live-action series.

In the anime realm, the “Shibuya Arc” of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has been a standout topic this year, captivating audiences with its dramatic twists and turns. The arc deeply impacted the main cast, witnessing devastating losses at the hands of antagonists. The emotional aftermath of Nanami’s death and the perceived demise of Nobara stirred strong reactions within the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbase. Mei Mei’s pivotal involvement in a controversial scene generated a spectrum of fan responses ranging from confusion to amusement, all echoing the sentiment of wondering about the creator’s intentions.

Yet, amidst the arc’s shocking and controversial moments, it boasted equally exhilarating and hyped sequences. The animated rendition of Aoi Todo’s ‘Black Flash’ scene was particularly noteworthy, animated by a teenager and adding to the arc’s thrilling narrative. Some fans even expressed opinions that Jujutsu Kaisen had surpassed the legendary Bleach, especially evident during the intense Yuji vs. Mahito showdown. Among the fervor surrounding the arc’s standout moments, discussions have sparked about scenes reminiscent of the “Hulk Smash” motif, prompting debates among fans about potential homages to the iconic rage-driven superhero.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Crunchyroll streams both seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen, presenting the story of Yuji Itadori—a boy bestowed with incredible physical prowess—who, after a fateful encounter, shares his body with Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful curse. Guided by the adept sorcerer Satoru Gojo, Itadori embarks on a journey at Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an institution dedicated to combating curses, setting the stage for an enthralling tale of battling curses and embracing an irreversible destiny.
