Recent events in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, particularly chapters 236 and 237, have made it increasingly difficult to believe that the series’ central antagonist will ever be defeated. However, with spoilers for chapter 238 now circulating, it might be wise for fans to reconsider their assumptions.
In the previous chapter, we witnessed Hajime Kashimo confronting Sukuna, which led to the revelation of Kashimo’s innate technique, “Mythical Beast Amber.” While this was an impressive display, it also led to Sukuna unveiling his original form, signaling trouble for all involved. Chapter 238 finally unveils the outcome of this intense showdown, and it’s anything but pretty.
According to available spoilers, chapter 238 commences with Kashimo analyzing, or perhaps one could say, admiring Sukuna’s original form, before launching another assault on the antagonist. The King of Curses then advises Kashimo to evade his next attack and proceeds to unleash the same technique he used to vanquish Satoru Gojo.
Amidst the battle, Sukuna manages to share a bit about his past, disclosing that someone once tried to show him love. Yet, in his eyes, it was the wrong person, and there is no one who can match his level. He subsequently employs an enhanced version of the slashing attack he previously used, but on a much grander scale. Suddenly, the scene shifts, and we find ourselves no longer on the present battlefield.
The chapter depicts Kashimo in his previous form while Sukuna reflects on the numerous lives the sorcerer must have taken in the past. He then reverts to his current body, engaging in a conversation with Kashimo. Sukuna later asserts that he has no need for others; he can do as he pleases, and it’s not his concern if others can’t keep up.
As we return to reality, we witness the domain holding Uraume and Kinji Hakari shattering, as Sukuna realizes that someone else has entered the fray. That someone is none other than Yuji Itadori, with a claw-like hand, accompanied by Hiromi Higuruma.
