Janet Leigh files for divorce from Eric McCormack after 26 years of marriage


Eric McCormack and Janet Leigh Holden McCormack are calling it quits.

The Will and Grace star, 60, and the director are putting an end to their marriage of 26 years, as reported by PEOPLE, citing court documents.

Janet, who has filed for the divorce by stating “irreconcilable differences” as the reason, is seeking spousal support, and has requested the court to end Eric’s ability to receive spousal support.


The divorce was filed a day prior to Thanksgiving, however, the exact date of their separation was not mentioned in the documents submitted to Los Angeles County Superior Court. The news were broke by TMZ.

The former couple met for the first time in 1994 on the sets of CBS TV series Lonsome Dove. At that time, Janet was the assistant director, while Eric was playing Col. Francis Clay Mosby.

The pair then went on to tie the knot in 1997. Five years later, they welcomed their first and only child, son Finnigan Holden McCormack, together.
