The Israeli military ramped up their activities in the Gaza Strip as on Friday night, the airstrikes were even more intense into the coastal enclave following several nights of limited raids.
Internet and phone services were down across Gaza amid reports by Palestinians that Israeli ground forces including tanks were operating within the Strip and heavy exchange of gunfire could be heard in the background.
Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for Israeli Defense Ministry stated, “The Air Force is striking underground targets very significantly.”
He added that in addition to the attacks launched by the IDF, they have been expanding their ground forces this evening. He pressed that the IDF is working with great force, in order to achieve objectives of the war.
For the last two days, the infantry forces and tanks of IDF have been conducting limited operations in Gaza Strip.
Hagari said that IDF will continue bombarding the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, and also renewed the government’s order of evacuation for the Palestinian people.
The military wing of Hamas, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said it was confronting Israeli forces in Gaza and revealed that the “violent clashes” were taking place near Beit Hanoun in the northern part of Palestinian enclave.
