Israeli forces surround second hospital in Gaza post Al-Shifa evacuation

After surrounding and conducting various search operation inside Gaza’s largest hospital Al-Shifa, Israeli forces have reportedly surrounded anther hospital in the decimated northern half of the enclave amid airstrikes in the area. The health ministry, controlled by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, have said that around 3,000 people are sheltering inside the facility.

It added that an Israeli shell struck the second floor of the hospital, which killed at 12 people and a medical worker, Marwan Abdallah, told the French news agency AFP over a phone interview – while gunfire was audible in the background. He added that the Israeli tanks have arrived as near as 200 yards of the hospital and military snippers could be seen on the top of nearby buildings.

World Health Organisation director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a social media post that WHO was “appalled” by the reports of deadly attacks carried out by Israeli forces on the Indonesian Hospital. “Health workers and civilians should never have to be exposed to such horror, and especially while inside a hospital.”
