Wednesday is back for another Season full of mystery, unearthing horrific murders, funny quips, a Wednesday-Enid relationship, the famed Addams Family, and a whole lot of craziness. Wednesday has claimed the title of most-watched Netflix series ever (beating Stranger Things). It is tough to refuse the growing demand for a Season 2 upgrade at this point in time. Throughout the next seasons, Wednesday will continue to evoke a global audience. We have some improvements for Season 2! Fans have been wondering what awaits them after Season 2 ever since the ground-breaking revelation, which was made public by Netflix on January 6th, 2023. So lets come to the real and most anticipated question: When will Wednesday Season 2 release?
In an intriguing announcement video, where Jenna Ortega paradoxically thanks her audience for tormenting her, Netflix announced a renewal for Season 2.
“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet(referring to her dance which caught the internet by storm). It’s been pure torture. Thank you!”
Is Wednesday Season 2 Canceled?
It is impossible to believe that Wednesday Season 2 will be cancelled due to the continued strikes, despite the evident yet unsatisfying development updates boosting the expectation bar.
The most popular Netflix series will return with more tension, terror, and captivating mystery resolutions. We were certain that this was one of those tales that would never go forgotten from the very beginning of Wednesday Addams’ depiction in Season 1 Episode One. As the first season came to a close, we believed all the storylines had been resolved until, in the last few seconds of the programme, an unexpected incident occurred, launching us into a brand-new season!
“No vacations or anything like that. We are starting to prep season two on Wednesday, which…has been exciting. Just developing new storylines and seeing where characters are going. Starting those conversations has been fun. I think it’s going to be bigger and better, which is cool.”
Additionally, casting director Sophie Holland informed Deadline: “It’s still early doors and I’m still waiting on the script. We hope to roll at the end of the year. I think there are some exciting and kooky characters coming up in season two.”
The Wednesday Season 2 premiere before the end of 2023 was highly anticipated by fans when its renewal was announced. It appears like fate, however, had other intentions for the series.
The WGA union, the most serious writer’s protest, came into full force in May 2023. Several rival networks revised their autumn broadcast plans during the protest in expectation of the strikes ending within the next month.
Let’s review the production and release schedule for Season 1. The cast and crew began filming in Romania in the autumn of 2021, and it was finished there in the spring of 2022, according to sources. Here’s the timetable for Wednesday season 2: the season was published roughly seven to eight months after filming concluded.
Accordingly, if Season 2 filming starts in the autumn (let’s say October), we may anticipate a Season 2 release in the winter of 2024 (November or December).
