Is there a FNAF ‘Into The Pit’ game release date?

Much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) franchise continues to captivate fans and maintain excitement with each new installment. The latest addition, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit, a 2D adventure game adapted from the Fazbear Frights story of the same name, accidentally made its debut due to a leak/announcement by Scholastic in late January 2024.

Acknowledging the leak, series creator Scott Cawthon confirmed the existence of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit and revealed that the production team had intended to keep it a secret for a bit longer. However, unforeseen circumstances are par for the course at Freddy Fazbear’s.

As for the release date of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit, there’s both good news and bad news. The bad news is that there isn’t a specific release date provided. The good news is that fans likely won’t have to wait long, as Cawthon referred to the project as a “10th-anniversary game” for the franchise. Since the original Five Nights at Freddy’s was released in 2014, Into the Pit is expected to premiere sometime in 2024.

To be more precise, the first Five Nights at Freddy’s game was launched on PCs on August 8, 2014. If Mega Cat Studios, the developer of Into the Pit, decides to align with this anniversary, fans can anticipate the game’s release around the second week of August.

The storyline of FNAF: Into the Pit follows Oswald, a 10-year-old boy who, yearning for the good old days, jumps into an ominously roped-off ball pit at Jeff’s Pizza. To his surprise, he discovers that Jeff’s Pizza used to be a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and the ball pit transports him back in time to 1985, the year of the Missing Children Incident. Oswald finds himself uncomfortably close to the Spring Bonnie rabbit animatronic. Developed by Mega Cat Studios, known for their 2023 RPG WrestleQuest, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit marks the sixth spin-off and the 16th official release in the FNAF catalog of video games.
