The Lincoln Lawyer has finally been renewed by Netflix for a third season, which will please the fans. On August 3, 2023, the most recent instalment of its second season was released, and the fans just couldn’t process what transpired at the conclusion (if you have watched the most recent instalment, you understand what we mean). With this stunning triumph in court, Mickey Haller’s Lincoln roared on the streets of Los Angeles and swept the legal establishment off its feet by acquitting his lover-turned-client Lisa Trammel of the murder of a successful businessman.
This Netflix courtroom drama’s second season, which debuted in the streaming service’s collection on July 6, 2023, quickly gained popularity on its own. Because of its procedural setting, which is tightly linked to mystery and exudes a carefree summery mood, it has gained enormous appeal. This explains the rising audience numbers as well as the show’s continued presence in Netflix’s Top 10 for several weeks.
There is a lot to learn and look forward to regarding The Lincoln Lawyer now that we know there will be a third season. Here we are providing it for you.
Is The Lincoln Lawyer Renewed For a Season 3?
Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer was ordered by Netflix on August 30, 2023. According to reports, the third season will include ten episodes and be based on the fifth novel in the series, The Gods of Guilt. Before the show’s formal renewal for a third season, there were already rumblings about it.
Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said after the renewal:
“The audience response to the show has been so gratifying and wonderful, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to dive back into Michael Connelly’s universe and bring Mickey Haller and his world to the screen again.”
In addition to these, Peter Friedlander, Vice President of Scripted Series for Netflix in the US and Canada, stated:
“We’re thrilled to bring back The Lincoln Lawyer for a third season. Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez have taken us deeper into Mickey Haller’s world, building out characters and stories that have connected with our global audience, and we look forward to seeing what they have in store for everyone’s favourite lawyer. The show continues to top our global lists and it’s a testament to the work from a creative powerhouse team including Michael Connelly, David E. Kelley, Ross Fineman and our partners at A+E Studios.”
Before the show’s third season was formally ordered, there were already rumblings about it. Showrunner Ted Humphrey stated that a third season writer’s room had been established before the WGA strike began on May 1st, 2023 in an interview with NYTimes.
Humphrey responded to a question regarding the show’s future by saying:
“At the moment, it depends not just on how Season 2 does but also on how the strikes are resolved. When the Writers Guild contract ended, we were forced to close our writer’s room for Season 3. Michael Connelly and the casts of “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Bosch” have participated in our Michael Connelly picket events. We’re there because the problems are actual and need to be fixed, and the only way that will happen is if the businesses come to a reasonable agreement with us. Hopefully, it will occur soon, and when it does, we will resume production on the third season.
