After a blissful 14-year marriage, Nicolle and Mark announced their divorce in 2019, a revelation brought to light by Page Six in March of that year. It was also revealed that Nicolle had started dating Michael Schmidt, a regular guest on her political talk show “Deadline: White House.” Interestingly, this occurred after Wallace and Schmidt were seen together at the 2019 South by Southwest festival, where they were simply having breakfast and not engaging in any extravagant activities. Michael Schmidt, Nicolle Wallace’s partner, is a highly accomplished journalist and author. According to his biography on The New York Times website, Schmidt’s tenure at the Times began 18 years ago, starting as a clerk on the foreign desk after completing his studies at Lafayette College. Over the years, he has covered various topics including sports, the Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon, and the F.B.I. In 2018, Schmidt was part of two Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting teams. Presently, he focuses on national security and federal investigations as a correspondent for The New York Times in Washington.
