Sharon Osbourne has never been particularly discreet about the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone over the years. So, when reports surfaced that she was calling it quits, it raised eyebrows. However, it seems not everyone in her inner circle was entirely convinced. Her son, Jack Osbourne, couldn’t resist making light of her past approach to cosmetic enhancements.
In April 2022, Sharon openly shared with The Times her unfortunate experience with a flawed facelift from the previous year. She vividly described, “One eye was different from the other. I looked like a f**king Cyclops. I’m like, ‘All I need is a hunchback.'” A year later, she informed The Sun that aside from rectifying the botched procedure, she had decided against any further facelifts to avoid a repeat. The family’s true sentiments on the matter emerged in Episode 2 of “The Osbournes Podcast,” and unsurprisingly, none of them were convinced. Jack, in particular, couldn’t help but point out that Sharon had a well-regulated schedule of sorts when it came to her surgeries.
Jack’s perspective? He likened his mother’s approach to appearances to how most people treat car maintenance. Fortunately for him, it seemed that Sharon was in agreement with the cheeky yet amusing comparison he made.
Just a few months after Sharon had stated to The Sun that she was finished with facelifts, her son playfully joked on the family podcast that, as far as he knew, “I thought you had, like, a two or three-year, like, tune-up.” Cue laughter from Sharon — but the good-natured ribbing didn’t end there. “It’s like a car … Every 5,000 miles, mom goes in for a tune-up,” he added.
Jack’s observation wasn’t entirely off-base. Sharon’s declaration in 2023 about quitting plastic surgery is just the latest in a series of statements about giving it up for good. In 2012, she told her co-hosts on “The Talk” that she wouldn’t undergo surgery again after seeing photos of herself where she felt she had gone too far (via HuffPost). Then, in 2019, she did a complete turnaround on the show, expressing her excitement about scheduling another facelift. In 2021, she went under the knife for the pivotal facelift that would lead her to swear it off once again — but it seems she’s already reconsidering the idea.
Following Jack’s playful teasing, Sharon not only concurred with his car analogy but hinted that she wouldn’t be opposed to the idea in the future if she felt inclined. However, she quipped that halting the aging process entirely wasn’t something she was particularly keen on. “It’s too late for me. I’ll be f**king 75,” she lamented.
Jack Osbourne’s remarks on “The Osbournes Podcast” weren’t the first time he commented on his mother’s dedication to the cause. In fact, back in 2013, after Sharon made a joke about a certain procedure in an interview on “The Graham Norton Show,” he mentioned on SiriusXM Entertainment that he intended to discuss it with her.
He playfully noted that he would do so in person to prevent any evasive tactics from his mother. And, he pointed out, he had one particularly potent card up his sleeve: Involving her grandchildren and reminding Sharon that they would eventually have access to the clips. Perhaps that specific plan of action had an impact — or perhaps Sharon caught wind of Jack’s interview and decided to put a stop to her son’s jests. Just days after it aired, Sharon revealed in an interview on “The Howard Stern Show” that her remarks on the topic were all in good fun. Sharon also emphasized that her health issues made it unlikely she’d pursue anything of the sort. While that may be the case, she’s also reversed her “no more surgery” declarations in the past.
Only time will tell if Sharon opts for another procedure. One thing we do know is that her son won’t be taken by surprise if she does.
