Exclusive Dragon’s Dogma 2 Showcase Unveils Exciting Plot Twists and Gameplay Features

Capcom recently unveiled exciting details about Dragon’s Dogma 2, slated for release on March 22, 2024, through a 15-minute livestream showcasing the game’s new features. Although the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2 occurred over a year ago, Capcom has been relatively tight-lipped about the game’s specifics, leaving fans to speculate based on rumors, leaks, and sporadic information, including an age rating from the Saudi Arabian ratings board.

The recent showcase brought much-anticipated insights into the gameplay and storyline of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Hideaki Itsuno and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the hosts of the showcase, revealed that the game unfolds in a world parallel to the original Dragon’s Dogma, clarifying the similarities between the two. In this sequel, the Arisen becomes embroiled in the intricate plots of two nations: Vermund, a human kingdom, and Battahl, a nation of Beastren. The narrative intriguingly involves a power struggle for Vermund’s throne, manipulated by Disa, Vermund’s Queen Regent, who installs a false Arisen.

In terms of gameplay, the showcase disclosed the introduction of a new support-focused vocation exclusive to the Arisen, termed “Trickster.” This vocation equips the Arisen with a censer to summon illusory enemies for attacks or buff their Pawns using smoke, enhancing their combat abilities. Additionally, the showcase hinted at the possibility of playing as a Beastren Arisen, illustrated by a Beastren character’s roar to attract a drake’s attention. Elves also make an appearance, speaking in their native language, which the Arisen cannot comprehend. However, having a Pawn fluent in Elvish can serve as a translator, facilitating communication.

Itsuno and Hirabayashi mentioned that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is undergoing its “final adjustments,” and Capcom is all set to launch the game on March 22, 2024. This announcement has heightened anticipation among fans, who eagerly await encounters with new formidable creatures such as the Talos, a humanoid golem-like titan, and the Dullahan, wielding a sickle sword despite being headless.
