Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa join forces for MGM’s buddy comedy ‘The Wrecking Crew’

Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista and Aquaman sensation Jason Momoa are teaming up with Ángel Manuel Soto, the director of ‘Blue Beetle,’ for the upcoming buddy action comedy ‘The Wrecking Crew,’ which has been set up at MGM. The project has been making waves since it was pitched and secured by Bautista and Momoa following a competitive bidding war.


The dynamic duo of Bautista and Momoa, both celebrated for their roles in major franchises, is coming together for ‘The Wrecking Crew,’ an anticipated buddy action comedy backed by MGM. The film will also see the collaboration of Ángel Manuel Soto, who recently directed the groundbreaking DC film ‘Blue Beetle,’ marking the first time a Latino superhero has taken the lead in a DC movie.

Jeffrey Fierson, known for his work with Jason Momoa on the Netflix and Discovery Canada series ‘Frontier,’ is set to produce the film. The screenplay for ‘The Wrecking Crew’ was penned by Jonathan Tropper, the creator of the acclaimed series ‘Warrior.’


Bautista’s busy year includes his appearance in M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Knock at the Cabin’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ marking the end of his time as Drax the Destroyer in the MCU. He’s also part of the ensemble cast of Brittany Snow’s directorial debut ‘Parachute,’ which premiered at SXSW, as well as the upcoming release ‘Dune: Part Two’ on November 3.

Jason Momoa, known for his portrayal of Aquaman, took on the role of the villain Dante in Universal’s ‘Fast X.’ His upcoming slate includes the highly anticipated sequel ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ set to hit theaters on December 20.
