The finale of NBC’s eleventh season of Chicago P.D. aired on May 22, delivering an exhilarating conclusion to several plot threads while leaving many intriguing questions unanswered. A major point of discussion following the episode was the fate of Tracy Spiridakos’ character, Hailey Upton. Her final moments on the show kept viewers on the edge of their seats, showcasing the dynamic nature of her character. Spiridakos joined the Chicago P.D. cast in Season 4 and became a series regular from Seasons 5 through 11. Although the show hinted at a potentially fatal end for Hailey, she instead explores a career change by considering a role with the FBI—another creation from the mind of Dick Wolf.

Could ‘Chicago P.D.’s Tracy Spiridakos turn up on ‘FBI’?

In an interview with Deadline, Spiridakos addressed the possibility of Hailey joining the FBI franchise. She stated, “No, I mean, not that I know,” but given the history of character crossovers in Wolf’s universe, and Hailey’s previous appearance in FBI season 2, episode 19, her return to the screen isn’t entirely off the table. Spiridakos remains a fan of Wolf’s procedurals, suggesting that Hailey’s story might continue in a future FBI season.

Reflecting on the Season 11 finale, Spiridakos expressed her satisfaction with Hailey’s optimistic send-off. She shared with Deadline, “I feel really good about it. Gwen told me her idea to send Hailey off and I was excited about it. I love that it’s just so different from what we’ve seen her go through in the past; it’s this really happy send-off for her and I absolutely love it.”

Spiridakos also praised the Chicago P.D. team, highlighting the strong bonds she formed over her 7.5 years on the show. She remarked, “I love this group of people, everybody from cast and crew, producers, everybody. This was a really hard decision to make. I’ve been on the show for 7 1/2 years. So I was just curious about what else was out there and just wanted to switch it up and that was kind of it but it was hard. It was very bittersweet and emotional.”

The Chicago P.D. Season 11 finale, filled with twists and turns, promises to keep fans talking for a while. For those who missed it, the episode is available for catch-up on Peacock.
