Congressman Henry Cuellar remains unharmed post armed carjacking in DC


On Monday, Texas Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar was carjacked in Washington, DC, as his office confirmed to CNN.

As per his office, Cuellar’s ipad, phone, sushi dinner, and car were stolen in the incident, which occurred at around 9.32 pm on Monday evening, as per the police.

“As Congressman Cuellar was parking his car this evening, 3 armed assailants approached the Congressman and stole his vehicle. Luckily, he was not harmed and is working with local law enforcement,” stated Jacob Hochberg, his chief of staff, in a statement. Further ahead, he added that Metro PD and Capitol Police’s swift action helped Cuellar recover his car.


The armed carjacking took place at the intersection of K Street and New Jersey Avenue in Southeast DC’s Navy Yard neighbourhood, as per the alert sent out from DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. The alert also mentioned that the cops are searching for the three male suspects.
