Cauliflower Buffalo Wings are a vegetarian twist on the classic game day snack, offering all the flavor and crunch without the meat. This recipe features crispy cauliflower florets tossed in spicy buffalo sauce, creating a delicious and addictive appetizer that’s perfect for parties or casual gatherings.

Ingredients: For the cauliflower:

  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk or plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the buffalo sauce:

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a batter.
  3. Dip cauliflower florets into the batter, shaking off any excess, then place them on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Bake cauliflower florets in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the cauliflower is baking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a separate bowl, whisk together hot sauce, melted butter or margarine, honey or maple syrup (if using), garlic powder, paprika, and salt.
  6. Once the cauliflower is done baking, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over the top. Toss until the cauliflower is evenly coated in the sauce.
  7. Return the sauced cauliflower to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes to crisp up the coating.
  8. Serve Cauliflower Buffalo Wings hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks for dipping. Enjoy this vegetarian twist on a classic snack!
