Britney Spears aborted her and Justine Timberlake’s baby at her home without letting her family know she was pregnant.
The “Stronger” singer shared in her forthcoming memoir that she and *NSYNC member agreed to not visit a doctor as they feared of the news going public.
“It was important that no one find out about the pregnancy or the abortion, which meant doing everything at home,” she wrote in “The Woman In Me (via the Associated Press).”
Spears, who was about 19 at the time, labelled the physical pain of the medication abortion as “excruciating.”
Terminating a pregnancy using pills causes “cramping and bleeding to empty your uterus,” as per Planned Parenthood, which draws line of the process with an early miscarriage.
The Grammy winner recalls in her book that during the whole time, she was crying and sobbing, till the process was completed.
She revealed that she does not remember how it ended but twenty years later, she remembers the pain and fear of it.
New broke Tuesday that Spears, now 41, had undergone abortion during the year 2000 at the peak of her and Timberlake’s romance and fame as pop stars and teen idols.
She admitted that she did not know if her decision to not have a baby was the correct one. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
