Blinken arrives in Israel to showcase unwavering support of U.S. for Israel

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pledged its support the country will never falter for Israel. He condemned Hamas’ “litany of brutality and inhumanity” as evoking “the worst of ISIS.”

“The message that I bring to Israel is this: you may be strong enough on your own to defend yourself, but as long as America exists, you will never, ever have to,” said Blinken in remarks alongside PM Netanyahu. He assured that the United States will always be by their side.

The top U.S. diplomat arriving in Israel is another way of showcasing their support, as the country fights Hamas’ deadly attack. The Biden administration seeks to bolster the country’s defenses and stop the conflict from either spreading or expanding. The visit also comes as U.S. seeks help to rescue the hostages held in captivity in Gaza, which also includes Americans.

Blinken said that among the dead in Israel, are 25 American citizens. He condemned the attacks and claimed that babies were slaughtered and young people were burned alive.

The top U.S. diplomat said that some military assistance has already arrived and more is expected to follow shortly.
