The original Beetlejuice movie, which was directed by Tim Burton, was among the finest comedies and ghost films ever made. The filming for Beetlejuice 2 started in the summer of 2023 and is slated for release on Friday, September 6, 2024. Unfortunately, that time will probably be postponed. Why? Well, as of July, the 2023 Actors Strike has stopped production, and we have no idea when it will resume.
Tim Burton claims that the strike happened right as they were ready to finish. “I feel grateful we got what we got,” he said [via The Independent]. “Literally, it was a day and a half. We know what we have to do. It is 99% done.”
This suggests that when things start to go in the right direction, there shouldn’t be much left to do, making a 2024 delivery date still conceivable. When filming starts up again, we’ll keep you informed.
