  • 3-4 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw for serving (optional)



  1. Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper. Place the sliced onions in the bottom of a slow cooker and place the pork on top.
  2. In a bowl, mix together BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the pork.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
