Pat Cummins led Australian team lifts the ICC World Cup 2023, hosted in India. The team won their sixth title by defeating the host country team, India by 6 wickets at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium.

Australia dismissed India for 240 runs in 50 overs and chased down the target in 43 overs. Skipper Travis Head emerged star player for scoring 137 (120). Another key innings were played by Marnus Labuschagne who scored 58 from 110.

Two-time champions India were playing their fourth ODI World Cup final.

The winning team were not deemed favourites for when the tournament began more than six weeks ago. However, they managed to defeat the crowd’s favourite for their sixth title.

Indeed, India and Australia played their first match against one another in Chennai on October 18, when Indian star Virat Kohli and KL Rahul steered their team to a chase of moderate total and get their first win of the tournament.
