In a recent revelation, television host and producer Andy Cohen has shared unsettling details about an interview he conducted with Britney Spears in 2013, during a time when the pop icon was under a controversial conservatorship, allegedly controlled by her estranged father, Jamie Spears. Cohen’s recollection of the interview paints a disturbing picture, with him describing the atmosphere as “creepy” and expressing concerns that Britney appeared to be held captive.

The interview in question took place during a pivotal moment in Britney’s career, as she was preparing for the release of her “Britney Jean” album. The meeting was intended to help her feel more at ease with potentially appearing on Cohen’s late-night TV show, “Watch What Happens Live.” Notably, the conversation was neither recorded nor filmed.

What made the interview particularly disconcerting for Cohen were the warnings he had received from two media friends involved in a documentary about Britney Spears. These individuals had informed him about a mysterious woman who perpetually accompanied the singer and seemed to dictate her every move. According to Cohen, they explained, “There’s this woman who is at Britney’s side at all times, and she basically tells her what to do and where to go, and it’s really creepy.”

Upon arriving in Los Angeles for the interview, Andy Cohen experienced firsthand the unsettling presence of this woman. He described the encounter, saying, “It was like Britney was her captive; [the woman] was her captor. … It was really creepy, really creepy. And whispering in her ear before everything. … And [Britney’s] like, ‘Mhm, mhm.'” Despite Britney naming this woman in her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” Cohen refrained from identifying her.

The eerie interview also included a peculiar incident where a birthday cake was presented to Britney, even though it was not her birthday. Cohen speculated that this may have been done for the benefit of the cameras.

Britney Spears, in her recently released tell-all, exposed the nearly 14 years she spent under the control of her father, describing him as a “cult leader.” She alleged that he overworked her, mismanaged her finances, subjected her to body-shaming, imposed a strict diet, and coerced her into rehab. Fortunately, the contentious conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, marking a significant turning point in the life of the pop superstar.
