The development team behind Alan Wake 2 has officially rolled out the patch notes for the game’s inaugural update, applicable across all gaming platforms including consoles and PC. This update primarily targets bug fixes and resolves known issues. Despite its chilling atmosphere, Alan Wake 2 has been marred by glitches, prompting developers to take swift action in rectifying these issues.
While Alan Wake 2 garnered a generally positive reception, it was not without its technical hiccups. Reviews highlighted various bugs, such as the problematic scenario involving Saga Anderson’s case wall, as well as more severe game-breaking bugs like instances of black screens impeding progress. Hence, these recent updates mark an important initial stride towards enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
Remedy Entertainment has now unveiled the official patch notes for Alan Wake 2, with each platform receiving a specific update: Xbox Series X/S (1.0.0.4), PS5 (1.00.05), and PC (1.0.6). These updates target undisclosed bugs, with the PC patch also addressing issues related to error messages when third-party applications hinder the game’s startup. Conversely, the Xbox update addresses distinct graphical and UI-related issues. In the announcement post, the development team actively sought player feedback to address other technical concerns, acknowledging a specific bug where audio cuts off on Xbox, and assuring players that it’s being actively addressed. The update was deployed for PC and PS5 over the weekend, and subsequently launched on Xbox Series X/S on Monday.
While this update predominantly focuses on bug fixes, fans of Alan Wake 2 can anticipate more exciting additions in the near future. Recently, Remedy confirmed that the game will introduce a New Game+ mode, allowing players to retain upgraded weapons, tackle higher difficulty levels, and explore new content through an “alternative narrative.”
Furthermore, Alan Wake 2 is slated to receive free DLC drops, as confirmed by the game’s director, Sam Lake. While details remain sparse, these DLCs are promised to have a substantial impact on the game. Additionally, two paid expansions, named Night Springs and Lake House, are on the horizon for Alan Wake 2 enthusiasts.
